It didn’t look fast because it looked like it was doing warm up laps and not hot laps

Nothing looks fast in that frame of reference. Its the same with Indy cars. I used to watch the 500 as a kid and think the same until I realized that those fence posts they were passing in a blur are 50 feet apart.
